Members louied78
only thin i don't like about oaks, is they give you no warning. at least maples/etc splinter before the break. oaks just POP! and they're gone. I have used Pro MArk japanese oak forever now and I love them. I can still feel or hear the difference when they are about to break. It's not as obvious as with other sticks, but it's there. Members Living Dead Drummer
OK people, Ahead has NEVER claimed that thier sticks are unbreakable. I don't know how people keep thinking they are. I hear about it all the time... "Oh, I had those unbreakable Ahead sticks and I broke them, they suck...." They are NOT unbreakable, but they will out-last wood. That's the point. I use and endorse Ahead, I break about 1 pair a month, more if I use Die Cast hoops. If you change the covers on a regular basis they will last 10x as long as a pair of wood sticks.
