I'm SHOCKED that it's somewhat normal sizes! Decent deal indeed. But then, this is also case-in-point why NOT to buy a kit from someone like Shine. Resale TANKS. As shown by the fact that he hasn't sold it yet...

Good point.

I recently had 3 kits for sale. A DW, a Tempus Carbon Fiber, and an Eames Mastertone kit. The Tempus and Eames (at least to my ears) were both

superior in sound quality to the DW but alot of people including seasoned drummers don't know the name.

DW kit sold quickly and I still have the Tempus and Eames kits (which is not necessarily a bad thing)

So I posted this for other people I few days ago, but decided something seemed to good to be true. As such, I called the guy and got the full scoop to determine it was 100% legit. He even gave me the guy to talk to at Shine to verify.

Long story short, I ended up getting this for myself. And it was damn good thing I did. I put brand new EC2 Coated heads on it and took it out for a road test this weekend. This kit sounds incredible for the price. My whole band thought this kit is the way to go...and I'm inclined to agree. Now I just have to get the missing 10" tom I'm used to.

Drum Porn Included!

And even more proof is in the YouTubes we took to showcase the new kit. There is a 30 second clip of me playing the kit unmic'd right after it was set up.

Another longer clip from my solo that night!

Honestly, after playing the kit I am not really concerned about resale value at all. The thing sounds incredible. And for what I paid, its a steal. Plus, my plan now is to sell my Pacific CX Maple kit and I'll make back at least 75% what I paid for the better overall kit. At worst I break even should I ever decide to sell it.

I've played a lot of high end kits and this one gives them a run for there money at a fraction of the cost. Shine maybe on to something. I'm even considering selling one of my Starclassic kits to get another Shine kit. (That's how impressed I am thus far).

Just keep in mind...at one time DW was just a small custom drum company in CA.

Anyway, let me know what ya'll think of the clips when you get a chance to watch 'em.
