Members sevenroy
I got this disc for my birthday last week... It's quite good. Produced by the Dust Brothers (who also supply most of the beats). Basically, it was made just like a hip-hop album, but with Beck singing and playing almost all of the instruments. It IS a Beck album and not rap--I want to make sure that's clear. The songs do get into your head easily, and cover a wide range of influences. A lot of slide guitar on this one, but also drum machines and scratching--often in the same song. I really suggest you check it out if you're a fan of Beck or a fan of anything once considered alternative or progressive.

Members sevenroy
that really depends on your taste I'd say it's familiar, as this has been one of the only albums where Beck himself plays most (if not all) of the instruments. On MG, he did play everything himself. Of course, that was a long time ago, and he's grown and mixed more styles and sounds into his music. It definately sounds cleaner (less rough) than Mellow Gold--I would almost call Guero poppy, whereas Mellow Gold was very "indie." (god I hate that word)
