Members bville
I tried a friend's OLP during a recent gig and it just doesn't measure up to the real thing. My Stingray cuts through with punchy clarity. It cost a little more but it's damn well worth it.

Members Jerome Howard
Yes, we must compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. The OLP is an under 300 dollar bass, and for what it is, it is damn good. But it will never be a Stingray.
Members bville
However, once you're done with the mods the price starts to climb considerably. $300 for the bass, $100-$150 for pick-up, $100 for a preamp and any thing else you want to throw in. Members Jerome Howard
Personally, I wouldn't mod one. I don't see the point. It will always be a Chevrolet, no matter what you do to it. It will not be a BMW. I see mine as a good messin' around bass. Nothing I would ever dream of performing live with, but I would record with it, and jam around the house. They basically have one tone. A good tone, but only one.
