Members flip333
Hi, Our bass player plays some songs on guitar. When I plug in my Peavey T-40 to his TNT bass amp, it begins to cut out. He plays a 5-string bass. It has hotter pickups, in that it puts out a louder signal at a given volume setting. It does not seem to cut out. It the amp faulty? My Peavey performs flawlessly DI'd into the PA or through my Yamaha amp. Thanks for your help
Members BEAD
If his bass works just fine in it, the first things I'd check are your bass and your cable.
Members thelurker
Cable first, then your jack on your bass. I'd bet on cable.
Members thelurker
the TNT series are not complicated or fancy amps, they don't (or at last my TNT-100 didn't) have any kind of signal overload protection. When troubleshooting, always check the cheapest and most easily damaged things first.l That way, even if your wrong, you haven't wasted near as much money as you might have if you'd started with, say, changing pickups!
