Members honestjohnny
Is there a difference as far as tone, sustain, etc. With the string trees, I'm thinking of a single bar-type tree that forces all the strings down. Thanks.
Members knuckle_head
Fewer points of contact is easier on the strings - fewer stress points. Straight pull from tuner to nut gives better tuning reliability - no hidden stresses on either side of the tree. As long as the break angle of the strings over the nut is strong in either a tree'd or angled headstock you should see no difference in tone or sustain.
