what does mono-bridged mean?

It refers to a stereo power amp that can also be run as a mono power amp with twice the voltage. The two amps are "bridged" together.

Hang on - twice the wattage, not voltage :)

For example - My DPC750 runs in stereo mode at 375 watts per side at 4 ohms minimum. I can bridge it, i.e., combine both channels to form one big mono power amp. It then pushes 750 watts (375 x 2) at 8 ohms minimum (4 ohms x 2).

Do note that this is not simply done by tying both channels together! Think of it (stupendously simplified) as this: your left channel becomes the PLUS side of the amp, and the right channel becomes the MINUS side of the amp. Where first either channel had its own + and -.

So, key points in bridging:

TWICE the output power at TWICE the minimum load impedance.

Hope this helps.
