Members cwatson
Well I was practicing with the band today and normally I overpower the guitarist with my amp and have to turn down. especially when using the boost on my equalizer. however today I noticed i was losing tone and volume steadily and couldnt keep up with the volume, then it started distorting and feedbacking this was followed by a distinct whiff of burning electronics Its a fender Rumble 100 by the way so nothing to special or whatever but not having a disposable income means that ths majorly sucks!! any ideas what it is. im guessing i overloaded the poweramp and the resistors got a bit hot. do you think this is the end for my amp? is it a sign from the gods of bass to buy that ampeg svt and 8x10 cab lol? Members sludgebass69
That doesn't sound too promising. Check the fuse, but it sounds like it's more serious/terminal than that. It's never good when the magic smoke escapes.
Members prosigna
I had a tool once that could put the magic smoke back into an amp. The hardest part was getting the correct smoke. Anyways, my kids were playing in and got into my toolbox. No more magic smoke tool.
