Members Hotblack
I'm thinking about changing the pickups in my SSD NS-95. It came stock with EMG-Hz's and I find them a little "blah". All suggestions welcome.
Members bassplayer7770
Which exact EMG-HZ models are they?
Members Funkee1
EMG 40DC's I believe are the retro fit. They should drop right in with no other modification necessary.

If that's the case, then Bartolini also makes direct replacements. http://www.bestbassgear.com/bartolini-m44c-pickups.htmhttp://www.bestbassgear.com/bartolini-72m45c-pickups.htm
Members scampi
I'd recommend an EMG upgrade throughout EMG BTS + 40 DC's (if it doesn't have the BTS already, not sure what pre was in those) I even replaced the stock Aguilar OBP-1 with the BTS in my NS5CRFM, the Aggie was not a good match to the stock DC's and the bass in general
Members bpocall
Nordstrand also has his signature pups (DC, Fat Stacks, Big Singles) available in EMG 40 series size housings now. They're not on his site, but drop him an email if you're interested.
Members basshunter
I recommend the EMG TWs. I replaced the DCs in my fretted JAF with them, and couldn't be happier.
