Members Ara Ajizian
I've got an Ibanez TR Series bass I bought in the mid-'90s...nothing special but it's real purty and I'd like to bring it back to life, maybe with some new pickups, etc. But the neck on this thing is warped pretty bad, so I'd like to pop a new one on there. Anyone know where I might find one for it?
Members Jazz Ad
You won't.The pocket is pretty deep so you can probably adapt a Fender style neck but not without some woodworking. Why is it warped ? Truss rod is dead ? How far does it adjust when the strings aren't on ?
Members Ara Ajizian
You know I really haven't done much of my own investigation on it...years ago I was told the neck was essentially shot, warped in a way that truss rod adjustment would never help it. It was the first real bass I owned, and I didn't know squat about neck adjustments, etc. I lived in Vegas at the time so it's possible the heat there might have had an effect on it too. I ended up buying a Fender American Jazz bass instead, so the Ibanez has pretty much just been sitting around for 8 or 10 years.
