Members michaelfpearce
I just installed a set of seymour duncans in my mexi pbass. They sound good, but if I touch the pole pieces with my thumb (as happens when i play), i get some nasty buzz. What can I do? Y'all rock...thanks. The only thing I can think of, and I'm certainly not an expert on this, is to check and see if the ground wire is inserted properly. Should run under the bridge. Members D Aussie
Umm.. stop touching the pole pieces. I thought they all did this. To get around it. I removed the covers of my pickups, placed a small piece of electrical tape across the poles, and put the covers back on. Now you cant make contact with the pole pieces no more. Members bpocall
If you don't want to go the elictrical tape route, just paint over the poles with some clear nail polish.
Members georgestrings
If you don't want to go the elictrical tape route, just paint over the poles with some clear nail polish. I tried that, and it killed some highs - but the tape didn't, so I used the tape for awhile... I later discovered that I could lower my pole pieces under the cover, but raise the whole thing to a working level - that's worked out best so far... - georgestrings
