Members FresnoWarPaint
Hey there. The bass player in my band has been having a problem with his power amp overheating. Does anyone else use either the SWR SM500 or the QSC RMX1450? I think the problem is that he's using the SWR as a preamp and running it into the QSC, then out to his stack (although he's been running this configuration for a few years and has only recently been experiencing difficulty). What would the proper set up be for this? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Moderators Kindness Posted April 3, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 3, 2007 I assume he is connecting the SWR to the QSC using the Balanced XLR Output from the SWR. If so, he's doing it right and that shouldn't be any problem. If he is set up correctly and the amp is overheating, something else is the issue. Members Robin
Sounds kinda like an ohm load issue. Not sure if the QSC 1450 will support a 2 ohm load, if that's what it's getting.
