Members waw423
My artist friend agreed to paint my bass body which is bare wood with no finish at all. He said Arylic paint would do and he is going to paint it for me soon. The problem is will the paint fade over time? Should I put a finish over that? If so how? Maybe another type of paint would be better? I have no idea and he has never painted a guitar before. Any tips?
Members Jazz Ad
Don't paint on barewood, you must use several layers of filler and polish it pretty well before. Acrylic is fine. When it's done, give the instrument a regular coating to protect the painting and it shall last for years.
