Members micmike Posted June 15, 2009 Members Share Posted June 15, 2009 I'm someone who uses a lot of dynamics vocally. Smooth and clean to heavy screams or growls. I love Chris Cornells vox on Soundgraden's Superunknown. Anytime he really pushes, the vox seem to excite a little distortion. If you check out this clip, it seems Mike Patton may have something on his mic. It hold a consistent volume (just compression) but also seems to have a nice smooth distortion when he really cups the mic and goes for it:[YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE] Would a vocal preamp achieve this?
