Members Undead Sycip
Ok, I know that being in tune in relation to a standard is more important to being in tune with each other. This is important when some post production recording has to be done and no one can find the old worn out piano that the original recording was tuned to. Now what about strobe and sweep tuning? Someone explain to me what makes strobe tuning more accurate than the regular sweep. I mean what's the physics behind it?

Moderators Kindness Posted December 3, 2007 Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2007 Stroboscope: (this explains the physics in how a strobe is implemented)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroboscope For reference, pedal "strobe tuners" are virtual strobes as there are no rotating discs. This tuner is a real strobe:http://www.petersontuners.com/index.cfm?category=67?=23 Page 24 (Appendix A) describes the advantages of a strobe tuner:http://www.petersontuners.com/media/pdf/490english.pdf This article describes some of the issues with other tuners.http://www.petersontuners.com/index.cfm?category=85?=
