Members fallstar208
Looking for a decent stomp box sized preamp to go along with a bass that has no tone control on it. I know that there's your typical Sansamp, etc... but what about something a little off the beaten path? Anyone familiar with Xotic? The tri-logic, in particular? Any other suggestions in the $200ish (give or take 50) range?
Moderators Kindness Posted February 7, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 7, 2008 That box looks cool until you get to the final spec: Specification:* Dimensions (W/D/H): 4.69" x 3.70" x 2.76" (119mm X 94mm X 70mm)* Weight: 1.2 lbs. (550g)* Power Consumption: 18VDC/20mA* Battery Type: 9VDC (006P) x 2* AC Adapter (Optional): 18VDC, Negative Tips (Center), Regulated recommended.....Dunlop ECB04 Power Supply* Input Impedance: 500k ohm & 50k ohm switchable* Output Impedance: 10k ohm*Frequency; high: 10kHz, mid: 3kHz (high-mid), 400Hz(low-mid), low: 20Hz Those are horrible frequency centers for getting useful tone control on a bass. A used Sadowsky may fall in your price range.

Members The Unknown
I heard Yamaha makes (made ?) a nice little box based on Nathan East's "magic box" preamp... I think it was reasonably priced. You might wanna take a look.
