Members Rootdogg
Ok guys. Just purchased a nice older 400RB. Mint condition, '84, spent it's whole life in a rack. I'm thinking of working with a two amp setup. Here is what I have now: Ampeg SVT4 PRO Avatar 210 NEO (Burdizzo's modded) - 4 ohm Nau 2x15 - 4 ohm So what should I do? The obvious is to get and 8 space rack, run the 2x15 off the Ampeg, and the 2x10 off the GK. Perfect wattage match. Then what? Run both full range? How should I get the bass signal to both amps? Any input would be nice. This is uncharted water for me.
Moderators Kindness Posted June 20, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2008 Run both full range. If either amp has parallel inputs, link up the amps through the parallel inputs. If not, use a splitter or use a Pre-EQ direct out from either amp (if they have them).
Members Rootdogg
Nice, this is what I figured. The Ampeg has all sorts of line outputs in the back (pre/post/line level), I'm sure there is one I can use back there.
Members JeffBass
I would buy a TC Electronics or Fulltone chorus (both have full bypass) and run each of the two outputs into each amp. Apply just a touch of chorus, eq the amps and get ready for MAGIC SOUND. Chorus comes to life in stereo mode, which is why they have two outputs. Don't buy a cheap one though. Members Rootdogg
I was considering this as well. I have a HBE Chorus, not a stereo chorus. However, I do have a DD6 and a Guyatone VTX Tube Trem. Both are stereo.
Members Rootdogg
Another cool consideration: My bass whammy has a wet out and a dry out.The wet would run nice to the 210, the dry to the 215.

You can also use a simple ABY box to get your bass into both amps. I have a Loopmaster and would recommend it...very nice quality stuff.
