Members Sloom Posted February 10, 2009 Members Share Posted February 10, 2009 Hey all, I have a Crest FA 1201 poweramp, and am using it as the power section of a bass rig. I'd like to hook up a comp set for limiting just to protect my speakers- I use a couple different cab set ups. So, do I send the power amp's amp'd signal through the limiter on the way to the speakers? The comp is an Aphex 651 Expressor. Thanks for your time and helpful suggestions! The comp is an Aphex 651 Expressor. You do not. Your compressor comes before the amp in the signal chain. I don't have the manual for your particular unit, but if it is rack mounted, rather than in pedal form, it is probably looking for a line level signal in an effects loop from a preamp.
