Hey, i usually hang out in the drum forum  but i also play bass and just purchased a cort curbow 5 string for $50. but it has no electronics other than the pickup. I'm not too worried about finiding the parts, pots, toggle switch, etc... but does anyone know where i could find a wiring digram and a list of the needed electronic parts??

Cheers

Welcome to the electric dark side then :p

Anyway, you'll need an output jack and that's all really. Unless you really want the pre-amp, in which case you'll have to do a bit of e-bay searching.

By the way - $50 is a good score :D

thanks. also does it have an active pickup?? it appear to have a cavity for a 9v maybe?? forgive my lack of knowledge. :)

and yeah i saw a couple of new curbows at the same place for $450, then saw this one used and missing parts for only $50 and figured it was a great deal.

I'd say 99% certain it has a passive pickup with an active pre-amp/EQ, so the battery is there just to power the pre-amp/EQ board. Unless the pickup says "EMG" on it, it's probably a passive.

ah, so i assume the toggle switch would be for the pre-amp, what are the 4 pots for? volume, tone, something, something??

Volume, mid cut/boost, bass cut/boost, treble cut/boost most likely.

Try Cortguitars.com, MightyMite.com, or any good size music store. Most of those parts are made by MightyMite, a sister company of Cort. Their main U.S. warehouse is near Chicago.

the preamp gives you some extra options for modeling your sound before it gets to the amp, but unless you're going to go out of your way to find a preamp for this bass, all you can really do is use a volume and tone set.

You could go with a regular Bart preamp, and use the switch location for the 3-way mid selector.

Or go passive, not use 2 of the holes or the switch, and just do volume and tone roll-off, like a P bass.
