Members cwatson
As far as cabs are concerned, my rig consists of a Warwick 411 pro and a 211 pro each running at 8ohms. I don't need a rig this big anymore and I could really do with the extra cash/space. As a result of this I'm considering getting rid of one of the cabs (probably the 2x10). Would I be able to rewire the 4x10 to 4 ohms to get the most out of the amp? If so how would I go about doing this? .... or I could sell the 4x10 and buy another 2x10 Help! Moderators Kindness Posted March 17, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 17, 2009 Would I be able to rewire the 4x10 to 4 ohms to get the most out of the amp? Nope. Sorry. On a positive note, the difference in volume/performance you can get from your (so far unspecified) head at 4 ohms and at 8 ohms is probably minimal to negligible. So you have that going for you. Members huben94
From what I remember for car stero day, you have to double the watts to get 3 db more. Anyways if you have 2 8 ohms speakers, you can get either 4 or 16 ohm, if you have 2 4 ohm you can get 2 ohm or 8 ohm load. Some amps can't handle a load that low. I want to re wire my cab with large wiring currently the cab has like 16 or 18 guage. Would like to change to 14 or 12.
