Members CountGrishnackh
My advice would be to start a whole lot smaller than any of that.
Members RSBro
That's not a terrible price on the Mesa. But for $400 he could def get a better cab that won't render that amp moot.

Members Bryan316
Vader? A Vader cabinet? Wow. I'm insulted. Even a BEHRINGER would sound better than that. Good amp. But find a MUCH better cabinet.
Members jasper383
Mesas are great amps, but for a first amp, I'd go as plug-and-play as possible. No idea what a Vader cab is. Used GK 400 or 700RB into a used Peavey 410.
Members RSBro
The 750 is about as PnP as Mesa gets!
Members jasper383
The 750 is about as PnP as Mesa gets! Yes. But for a first rig, I'd go solid state. It just takes more "nuance" and experience to get a tube head to do what it can do. In the right hands, nothing is better than a tube head. The 400/400+ are the only all-tube Mesa bass amps.
