I can't really give you any advice on RAW post-processing as I always shoot JPG but what is it you are trying to do? Just turn the RAW data into a usable photograph? Basically, you move sliders around to set the contrast, brightness and white balance of the image as you see fit - stuff the camera normally does for you based on your settings when you shoot JPGs.
