Members WillPlay4food
I would pick up a copy, but I don't have to because I've owned this for years. If I had a gripe with this album it would be the songs are too long. I have no problem with long songs; I do like Yes and other bands known for long songs. It's just a couple of songs on Head Hunters gets very repetitive. I love a good groove, but sometimes you have to know when a song is done. Members groutt
Nice pick. I'll give it a fresh listen and come back to this thread. The reason I got the cd is because of the Arp Odyssey solo in Chameleon. There's not a ton of records with Odyssey solos. Pretty cool, but I think it could have been better. Members bassman1956
I prefer Cantaloupe island, but this is good.
Members One Bad Monkey
Great album that significantly affected how I played funk from the onset. I like Herbie's quote in the liner notes..."You can get complexity out of simplicity if you're clever enough."

I'm listening to Chameleon now. Maybe I was too harsh. Maybe. Is the repeating bass line a synth or a bass with envelope filter? I'm guessing synth. It's got kind of an Arp "quack" to it. EDIT: Hey yeah, I forget that you can look up stuff on the "internet" thing. Bass was an Odyssey.
