I am pretty good with wood, and have built many a thing (all non music related though) I am thinking of buying a blank from Warmoth (with the neck pocket routed already). I've got the design generally picked out... but what do I need to factor into preventing neck dive? (sorry, its one thing that bugs me is when it doesn't "sit right" when playing) My thoughts are position of the strap button in relation to the neck, and the weight of the body vs. the neck/headstock (including hardware). Anything else? I know if I base it off of a bass that I own, then I should be fine, but I am departing from the standard shape, and don't want to end up hating it because it is not balanced. Other than that, I am thinking of building a fearful 15 6, an outdoor kitchen/bar (when it stops raining), and shelving and a workbench for my garage. Yalls got any?
