Members The Snake King
My bassist is selling his combo which he's been using the head out of through his 6x10 cab & looking for a head.Hopefully tube, for around $350 but maybe $400. If there is a really good SS head that should be noted for that price, let me know. Like I said, he's playing a 4ohm Ampeg SVT Classic 6x10 cab, something that might match up with that would be cool.I know a little about the higher priced "well known" bass amps but not so much in this range. Oh, and we play a little loud. Kinda spacey southern rock with some thump.I've got a 45w tube amp I'm playing so I need to feel some bass.
Members Poltergeist
as i said in the HCFX, at that price you just can't find better then with a GK 800RB head
Members jonjohn
I'd go with that too
Members The Snake King
Yeah I'm trying to find one, having a hard time at the moment. Thanks though!
Members Trauma_Luna
GK backline 600? the 800RB is better, but i have the backline and really like it.
Members 82Daion
If you can't find an 800RB, a 1001RB or 700RB will be just fine. You won't find any decent tube heads for bass for that sort of money unless you're incredibly lucky and/or patient.

Members Groovemercenary
Are you willing to go used? Or does it have to be new?
Members Ender_rpm
Used Markbass Little Mark II would prolly fit the bill. And it's 6 pounds
Members The Snake King
We're looking for something used mainly, bigger bang for the buck. And he told me this morning, if he has to he can probably go to $450.
Members Groovemercenary
If that's the case I would go with a power amp and preamp set up. Power is cheap right now and I think this rout might offer the best bang for you buck. Maybe a tech21 Sansamp DI or VT Bass and a used power amp. Members The Snake King
We may have found a Traynor YBA200 for $400. From what I know, which isn't alot, it's fair price & a decent amp for the money.Sound correct?
Members Poltergeist
i'd still prefer the 800RB's, but you can't really go wrong with that one either.
