Members zachoff
There's this amp with a 15" cab on my local CL for $600 obo... Looks remarkably like my Bassman 135 head but I've read it's a solid state preamp... True? Seems strange.
Members der oxenrig
I had the HD-130, which is similar. I traded my Bassman 135 for it, which I regretted. The HD-130 sounds great clean, but as soon as you push it, it gets farty (worse than a solid state amp).
Members ezstep
Sounds great with a 2x15 cab. But, the "gritty" tone comes from the pre, which is solid state and not at all pleasing to the ear like a tube pre. (turn the channel volume up and the master down to get distortion) Very loud (with 2x15), very clean. One-trick-pony, but a good trick.
