Members mstreck
I always have the mindset of "I suck"... then the only thing I can do is surprise myself. And I'll never be disappointed.
Members cephus
I always suspected that I was awesome, but was never 100% positive. I've had great gigs and {censored}ty gigs and have had many people tell me that I was good. I have had less people go out of their way to tell me I sucked but i generally took it as a response to some personal issue. The point is that you can never know for sure if you suck or not. There is no empirical measurement of "awesomeness". One one hand, being falsely humble can have benefits. But if you are booking your own gigs, you can't be humble describing yourself to the club owner. So, there are two guys: THAT GUY who wears my clothes and plays my guitar onstage is full of confidence, even if THIS OTHER GUY who hauls the gear to the bar and back and practices hours on end isn't really sure that he is worthy to clean the crud the underside ofTHAT GUY'S strings.
