In fact, if I was king of the world, I would have imposed a cease fire on all 'new music' somehere around 1982 just before electronic drums and synths took over. It's all been done. Every decent song has been written. There is absolutely no need to write any more songs. We are overloaded as it is. I don't like electronic drums and synths any more than you do, but... I can't think of a single thing from the 70's that I like. The rest of my favorite songs all came after.Metallica, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al, Flogging Molly, Blackmore's Night just to name a few items in my library that I listen to. All of it after 1982. Ain't nothing like it before 1982.New ideas happen all the time man. If'n a law like yours was made, I'd be voting the king out of office, lee harvey style.
