Members ckcondon Posted September 25, 2012 Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 We only play about one weekend a month and have a had a great relationship with a particular club here in Jax Beach for the past 7 years. They recently relocated and seemed to be struggling. They did little promotion and hardly touched their FB page to keep people updated on bands/specials etc. A lot of people never knew they moved and didn't migrate to the new location (3 blocks away). They had a few bad bands and bad nights. The owners went to DJ's on Fridays for a while and cancelled a few of our nights. That didn't pan out so they wanted to re-book the Fridays we had. No prob. We play a few weeks ago and killed. Best night they had since moving. We kept the crowd and never took a second break. We played from 11:30-1:30 and they had trouble clearing the bar after last call. Guess that wasn't the norm because they closed the doors a week later and locked out the staff. They have a second location downtown, but it's not a great venue for us since most of our fan base won't leave the beach. Plus there thug activity around that venue is high and there have been some violent episodes including some dude randomly walking up to another band and punching their singer for no reason. Not really interested in playing there. Mainly bummed because it was easy to deal with the GM and he respected bands and was easy to communicate with. No we have a bunch of empty dates and all the other good rooms are booked into next year. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
