Members J.Paul
I'm selling a little floor pedal that says it is a "press on switch" (looks like a momentary switch) It's normally closed..... I can't even remember what I bought it for 30 years ago but I've used it as a sustain pedal for keyboards when I didn't have my sustain pedal w/ me.... What's the correct terminology for this? Press On Switch?

Members Chicken Monkey
Momentary On Switch? They can also be used as a tap-tempo w/ some delay pedals.
Members wesg
What he described is not a latching switch, it is the exact opposite. "non-latching switch", maybe?
Members backtoblue
It depends on it's behavior once you've taken your foot off. If it only does what it does when the pedal is depressed, it's a non-latching switch, like this guy:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...ing-footswitch Handy for setting tap tempo, punch-ins, etc. Otherwise it's a latching switch.
