Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp

The recording outs are voiced softer, so you can send them direct to a mixing console and not be too buzzy. The main outs are meant to feed a power amp/speaker cab set up. I'm surprised that it's not too dead sounding, using the recording outs to a power amp/cab...

I tried the same thing out of my Marshall JMP-1. It sounded fine out of the recording outs, just different of course. I think it will all depend on what your ears perceive as the best tone. As long as you can get a good strong signal out of it, either will be fine.

Right now, my studio has a G-Major in the loop and runs into a Randall RRM-80 (single rackspace solid state) and a 2x12 cab in stereo. I use the main outs. I found the recording outs too soft and compressed.
