Members tuvokzeta9
Some devices have a "clip in place" style battery holder. The CMOS backup battery on a motherboard is the same style. The battery is usually a 3 volt lithum battery...# 2302 and the lifespan varies from piece to piece. Usually 6 years is the lifespan but I've seen them go as long a 10. The other style is a "solder in place" type of battery holder. The older units like the Ibanez SDR 1000 and some of the older Roland gear have this style holder. They are trick because the battery can explode from the heat and that would be bad. I've never replaced a battery that has this type of holder. There may be special tools required. If its a clip in style you're alright. Pop the top to determine which it is.
