Members Lockjaw
Is there any certain metal I should solder with that has low electrical resistance? (the metal that I melt in order to connect the 1/4 inch plug and the cable). Thanks for any imput.
Members EVH Wolfgang
Just your regular old 60/40. I use "Kester" brand if that helps. Some now are 63/37, but it's all gonna do the same thing. I don't think you would hear a difference with any other materials, but maybe someone will chime in with that. Members Lockjaw
One other question: I got Ven Den Hul cables, which are very thick. Do I need any sort of special wire cutters to not smash the cable when cutting it?
Members jimfowler
standard issue wire stripper/cutter will work. 63/37 has a slightly lower melting point than 60/40, which is good for PCB...i guess the more silver, the better since it's highly conductive. -jim
