i need some advice on getting a rack amp. i just want to have a rack and speaker cab. i play thrash mostly in my house, but occasionally jam and sometimes cover for a mia/vacationing guitarist. i'm very limited on funds, which limit me to mostly used equip. i really can't afford to pay more than $200. i've been looking at ada microtube 100 and 200 and the carvin dcm150.

The ADA Microtube series are pretty good. I've tried the Microtube 200 was pretty good sounding for what you get for the money. its not a tube poweramp but it did have the tubes feel to it due to the 2 12ax7s.

I've also heard good things about the Carvin.

The DCM150 is a good clean sounding amp. The person that told you that it lacks low end must be confused. The tone that you put into it is what you get back only louder. This is exactly what a good FET amp is supposed to do.
