Members gargamelesp
Hi, for a midi controller im probably going to get a ground contol pro and an xpression for an effects. Right now i only have a preamp, poweramp and a cab. I dont have enough cash for both so which would you suggest i purchase first? thanks
Members whammy boy67
If it's a MIDI preamp then buy the controller first. Otherwise save your dough and buy them together. MIDI controller's are useless without anything to control and MIDI controlled processors are useless without MIDI controllers for the most part. I know there are ways to get around it, but if you want to use the unit to it's fullest whatever it may be, you need the controller with it. Good luck man! - Erich
Members gargamelesp
yea its a midi preamp i was thinking that maybe it would be ok to get the processor first and control everything from the front panel of the preamp and processor. However i need your experience to advice me on whether its feasible to do so. If not i think ill go for the controller first.
Members El Grinder
You can get the processor first and control everything from the front panel. I would actually suggest getting the MIDI controller first though, since you already have a MIDI preamp. That way, you can learn to control the preamp now. You can add the processor and learn to control it separately later on.
Members whammy boy67
Definitely get the controller first. I'm guessing now you've been controlling things from the front panel but I know myself I hate doing that, so thats what I'd do. Just curious, what're you using for a pre? I've got an MP-1. - Erich
Members gargamelesp
so far for the preamp alone its not really tough controlling from the front panel but i figured it could get messy if i bought the xpression first. im using a marshall jmp1
