Members keithb
I'm looking for a preamp that has the following features: MIDI switchable 3 ch (clean, crunch, lead) Won't break the bank I'm looking for a Mesa type sound for both crunch and lead, so the Triaxis is the obvious choice, but are there any others I should consider? Thanks! Edit: forgot to mention, I don't mind modellers, as long as they sound good. I'd like something that doesn't make a Les Paul and a Strat sound the same, know what I mean? Members Robotechnology
I use a TriAxis myself, but other preamps I've tried and liked that usually cost less are: Rocktron Prophesy & Voodoo ValveEganator/Vendetta VP4 (Rocktron as well)Marshall JMP1Carvin Quad X-AmpDigitech Twin Tube GFX1 I also have a VAMP Pro--it does have a few good sounds in there but, the different model sounds don't feel or sound much different for that matter. Do you agree?

Do you agree? Yup, the models all seem to sound pretty much the same, just different levels of gain. Plus, all my guitars sound exactly the same through it. I'm basically looking to replace my F-30 - it has great cleans, but I'm looking for more of a Mark-series lead sound.
Members ZeroFiveFour
Have you considered the Egnater M4 or Randall RM4. This set up would allow you to purchase the diffent modules at your own pace. While its not cheap by any stretch, after you purchase the chasis, its only as expensive as the amount of modules that you buy. Also you can choose the Modules that suit your taste. Im currently considering one myself. Good luck. 054...
Members Dennis808
Have you considered using a MIDI-switcher (i.e. Nobels MS-4) http://www.nobels.com/cgi-bin/products/show.pl?e_ms-4 And then choose a non MIDI tube-amp, they're a lot cheaper, but are nonetheless great sounding. I recently got an ENGL E530 (they go for
Members Duke of Metal
The ADA MP-1 with the 3Tube mod from www.adadepot.com. It sounds excellent. Match it up with a good poweramp and your set. Just one of the choices. Good luck, Duke
