Members SteveR
I want to get a stereo poweramp and use stereo effects with my stereo cab. the thing is I have a hughes and kettner tube factor pedal I want to use for distortion but I want something I can plug into to have just a really nice clean sound. Is there something I can plug into the stereo poweramp to change it to line level? Or can I just plug straight into the power amp? will it give me enough volume ? Members Ozz666
I thnk you'll want some sort of preamp for your cleans....poweramps don't generally have enough controls to get a really nice clean that you'll be happy with.....and to switch between the distortion pedal and cleans you'll need a preamp with some sort of loop or you can get a switcher to switch between the pedal and preamp. There may be some other possibilities, but that's my train of thought. - Joel
Members El Grinder
Some power amps can take an instrument level input. Actually, my Mesa Strategy 500 doesn't sound half-bad with a clean guitar put into it.

So That's how you're overcoming your hum problem! Doesn't the tubefactor have a clean or bypass setting?

Doesn't the tubefactor have a clean or bypass setting? No, but I had noticed that while running my guitar just through the power amp. I'm still waiting on Mesa/Boogie tech support to return my call. They did return my call once, unfortunately, I was in class, taking an exam, so had left my phone off. So, I had left another message and am waiting for the reply. The hum problem still exists unfortunately.
