Members DeadNight Warrior Posted June 23, 2005 Members Share Posted June 23, 2005 Ok firstly, I know nothing about MIDI, in terms of controlling various bits of gear. Now basically, I have a Quad preamp that I want to be able to control via means other than the FU-2. So I guess an Axess CFX4 (or two, depending on how many functions I want to control) will let me do that. I also have a Boss GT-8 that I'll be using for effects 'n' whatnot. Could I use the GT-8 to control the switching of the Quad via the CFX4(s)? If so, what else would I need aside from the CFX4(s) to get this going? Going further, if I decided to use the GT-8 as a pre-Quad FX unit only, and have a separate rack FX unit(s) for delays 'n' whatnot after the preamp, how would I go about controlling this. I guess logically (logical to me anyway ), with all these different MIDI controlled units involved, I'd have to have some kind of central point where everything's fed into, and then into the GT-8 or whatever controller?
