Members The Idiot 1
I've read horror stories concerning the alesis 3630 around these neck of the woods, why is that? Would I be better off getting the ART for guitar?
Members mwestenberg 0
I've never used the 3630 but I own the MDC and you should be aware that it uses a common set of controls for both channels; that is both channels must use the same settings. Since it was designed for stereo guitar that was appropriate. It is also fairly slow in terms of attack time (not so good for drum use).
Members Flat Fifth Fury 0
Neither are very good. If you want a stellar rack compressor for your guitar get an FMR RNC1773. They sell for about $175 and beat the pants off of any compressor under $1000. This is a gem of a unit that is loved in loads of studios. In comparison the Alesis is total junk. If that's too steep for you the DBX 266xl is poor in comparison to the FMR but better than the Alesis and ART by a margin.
