Members rpurdue Posted August 25, 2006 Members Share Posted August 25, 2006 Hi All. I just bought a Rivera Hammer 120 tube poweramp as i want to build a decent do all rack. I'm looking for a MIDI tube preamp in the $800-$900 range and the most popular choice is the Triaxis. I really dig the guitar sounds of Metallica, Dreamtheater, Stone Temple Pilots etc.... Does anyone have any realworld experience with these? Is there something else out there that i should be looking at instead? Members Flat Fifth Fury Posted August 25, 2006 Members Share Posted August 25, 2006 The Triaxis will do that. It's a very good preamp but either you love it or hate it. I think that you should play with one and see how it suits you. Like all Mesa amps it is very interactive so the controls aren't easy to tweek but there are some excellent sounds in that box.
