Members Astral-sky
HiI pulled out my old peavey Tubefex or a play. This thing still is one of the most high gain units I have owned.. I noticed it getting quite hot on the right side.I cant remember if this was the case before , just wondering if anyone still has a Tubefex here .If so is this common , or something I should look into ? Thanks

Members Maximu$
Its perfectly normal. Thats where the preamp tubes are located... Awesome little unit. I've been tweaking this little beast ever since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and so far I've been able to get pretty close to the almighty mesa mk IV sound. I think the tubes are on the other side (left) As for the tone mine has some kick ass gain , more than my Boogie MKIV ever had
Members Elric
I was really looking for one at one point but ended up finding a deal on a different preamp. I'd still love to check one out. A lot of the reviews make them sound like a programmable Rockmaster w/ FX. It sounds like they had a ton of gain on tap and were pretty good preamps. They seem like they were pretty rare/less popular based on the Rockmaster to Tubefex ratio on eBay, though. Don't know of any big name users... Tony Iommi was an endorsee but I'll bet he still used his Laney's for distortion. There was a similar unit without the tubes called the Transtube-Fex. Members -=Pennywise=-
There was a similar unit without the tubes called the Transtube-Fex. yep, I have the "TransFex" combo amp version of that preamp. Even the though TubeFex and the TransFex are two different units, the only dif between the two is the tubes in the preamp section, the effects, interface and programming of both units is exactly the same. THAT said..... what are some settings you guys like to use? I'm always searching for cool tones to program into mine.

Members Astral-sky
Do any of you have some decent delay settings for doing leads? HiSorry I forgot about this thread.I have a few High Gain Lead settings , some with long & others with short Delay times with Reverb. I have ben using the Tubefex into a Marshall 1959 (not the best power amp)But it sounds very different in every amp i use ! My setting might not work for you , but I find the Unit very easy to program.I haven't used it live yet.My Patchmate didn't seem to work with the unit.I'll have to read the manual.
