Can it be better that my CRATE SPA-200? Is is better than Rocktron Velocity 300 which cost more? Why? I'm looking something to replace my Crate SPA-200 but I don't accept worse. Not as warm as a valve power amp but the emulation circuitry in the Valvestate mode was definitely warmer than a straight pa solid state power amp. Never downtuned below Eb but providing the frequency range of the amp goes low enough to handle Bb, which you should be able to find out from the specs, I'd guess the speakers/cab you're putting in through will be more of a factor depending on whether the speakers start flapping. Like this marshall, crate-spa (witch is also a guitar amp) velocity 300 etc. I'll leave this open cause this is not much visited sub forum. Members Untraceable Posted January 14, 2009 Members Share Posted January 14, 2009 look at it this way, there really isnt any indication that it will suck absurd levels. with SS amps, the more watts, the more headroom usually and marshalls other SS poweramps have decent reviews.
