fog effect? fog pots?

Hi! I'm hoping someone here knows what I'm talking about.

 

We went to a concert recently that had an effect my band would love to use, but i'm not sure what it was to know what to look for. (I'm an effects idiot).

 

The effect is like having a flashpot, but it was fog. A continuous column of fog coming from the pots onstage. They would run for probably 30 seconds. Cool visual. The columns shot up at least 30-40 feet.

 

Anyone know what to use for this? It wasn't just a couple of fog machines.
