Members Dogoth
I'm the monitor guy for a theatre (mostly national acts). The Stage Mgr (my boss) has tasked me with upgrading/reviving our ageing com system (a single channel Clear-Com system circa 1975-1985). In my research I've found 5 companies who make wired beltpacks (there's too much steel in this theatre to make RF useable and reliable (we even have problems with some of the newer uhf mics & I.E.s onstage if we're not careful about antenna placement)). Anybody know of any other manufacturers of beltpacks? also any comments positive or negative about those listed would be appreciated. 1) Clear-Com2) Telex3) Anchor Audio4) Production Intercom Inc.5) Tech Pro
Members Craig Leerman
R-Columbia makes Clear Com compatable headsets, beltpacks, and base stations (among other com items). Their headsets are very rugged, but their beltpacks and base stations are not as rugged. Prices are very good. A single muff headset (RC760) is only $75! Dual Muff (RC766) is only $85. I own 20+ headsets and beltpacks from them and have not had any problems. http://www.rcolumbia.com/ Request a catalog to see the entire line. Members Never_Grew_Up
I just saw something recently (don't remember the company) that does intercom over CAT5. Might even be digital intercom, I just don't recall where I saw it. The lower cost of CAT5 wiring might give you the opportunity to put more stations in.
