Members paulwannabe
Okay, let me start by saying that I know nothing about lighting, but at some point our band will need to get a basic setup. A while back, our drummer bought a line dancer effect light, with sound activation and everything. It has been giving us trouble for a while as far as not spinning properly. I took a look at it and noticed that the lamp requires 110V, and since we're plugging it into a wall outlet we're feeding it 120V. Could this be burning it up? It doesn't work for longer than 5 or 10 minutes. Do we need a light controller to plug into? Also, what would we need for a basic 4-can setup? Members BillESC
X is quite correct. Voltage represents a range and is not exact. The Line Dancer fixture has a duty cycle, it should not run for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time without a cool down time of the same length. The simplest 4 Par can set up would be 4 cans, tripod and a chase unit. The T4 by ADJ will work well and is not too expensive.
