Members SteelyD2
In comparing these two units, the only difference I see in the literature is that the 166 seems to have a brick-wall limit setting that the 266 may not have. It seems that the performance differences would have to be more to justify the difference in price. What am I missing, or would you consider this difference to be worth the cost to a home recordist? Thanks in advance,D
Members AudioAlfred
The gating is actually more responsive in the 166XL. It actually works! Also, most would agree that the 166XL has a smoother sounding compression.

This will be used primarily for gating. Thanks, D
