Members where02190
If they are the right mics in the right place. I often double mic guitars, using a sennheiser e609 silver and a shure SM57. I generally (assuming a single amp/mono rig) mic the same speaker, placing one mic just above and the other just below the horizontal center of the best sounding speaker, where the cone meets the surround, with the diaphrams about an inch from the grill. If the system is stereo I'll often pan them about 10-2o'clock.

Members OneEng
I have tried many mic's on my VHT 50ST 4x12 setup. I prefer the Sennheiser MD421 for the guitar cab. It gets GREAT punch and clarity for guitar cabs
