Members roccoboy
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/yrk/msg/701743497.html The "new in 1988" line reminds me of what my Mother always says when an appliance of something breaksdown - "what do you means it's not working, it was brand new 15 years ago!". Dust included, if you owned this gear what would you expect tp get for it?

Members Dogoth
You could always salvage drivers and parts out of it and dump the rest. Yea $150 sounds about right.

Members Dogoth
Just out of curiosity....Was this decent stuff in its day????? Any one know? I'd say that in it's day it would have been considered low end. I would however say that the bottom bar of the equipment quality ladder has been lowered signifigantly since then. There used to be a design philosophy that "if the equipment won't last and at least do an adequate job, then it isn't worth making". That philosophy has changed to "It doesn't matter if our equipment works to spec (or at all) as long as we can sell enough units to make money". In todays world the marketing guys (of some unscruplious companies) will tell you anything to make the sale. In todays world I'd consider it low mid quality. I noticed there were some BW drivers (Peavey made (still makes)) a lower end driver line called scorpion).
Members Gomer Pyle
It may be bigger, heavier and not as sexy as new systems but my 80s EAW, JBL outdoor rig can still rattle windows a mile away. I'm sure that system in the right hands could sound fine, Paul.
