Members jrm27
Does anyone here do any processing with their IEM setup? Do you run the IEM signal through a compressor/reverb/limiter/etc... first?
Members mshifflett
I tried running some reverb on the vocals just to fatten them up in the ears a little but it seemed to make everyone sing flat or something. I use the built-in Sennheiser limiters on our belt packs but have inserted some compression on the bass guitar channel and a couple of other things from time to time which works out well. If your wireless systems do not have limiters you should probably look into either inserting some on each of the outputs or put them in line before the transmitter. Members pro1-54
An artist I work with asked me about this same issue-I did some research and found a unit called a DBX IEM which is touted to do all kinds of processing. He was a little shocked at the $1300 retail so I havent laid my hands on one yet.
