Members dvkerner96 Posted February 25 Members Share Posted February 25 Hey everyone, I'm debating between these two models of Gotoh tuners for a custom guitar build. I'm wondering, are the 510s really better than the 301s? The 301s are the old standard that many builders such as Benedetto and Collings still use, but the 510s are considered the "premium" line. Other than the 510s having a 21:1 gear ratio as opposed to the 301s 18:1, is there really much of a difference? Are the 510s actually better and more reliable, or just higher gear ratio?
